What does Jeka & the Lines actually do?
I create custom ideas and designs. My practice runs across three connected phases:

DEVELOP (Concept & Geometry): Parametric 3D modeling, spatial design, and complex geometric development.

SOLVE (Structural Planning & DFM): Connection detailing, structural system layout, production drawings, and Design for Manufacturing.

MAKE (Fabrication & Delivery): CNC/laser cutting, shop welding, custom assembly tooling, transport, and on-site installation.
Alongside my own original sculptural work, I serve as the technical lead for architects, artists, and institutions when conventional contractors walk away from a design.
Is Jeka & the Lines an agency, a factory, or just you?
When you work with Jeka & the Lines, you work directly with me. I am a Bezalel-trained spatial designer and maker. I personally develop the geometry, resolve the structural connections, and direct the fabrication on the shop floor. For heavy manufacturing I bring in specialized production partners under my direct management.
Who designs and fabricates monumental sculptures and custom designs in Israel?
I do. I’m Jeka Vinograd, and I run Jeka & the Lines. Operating nationwide with permanent public landmark installations in Haifa, Rehovot, and Jerusalem I bridge computational 3D modeling with heavy industrial fabrication. I take ambitious ideas from lines all the way to shop drawings, fabrication and on-site installation.
Can you work directly from an existing 3D file, CAD drawing, or rough sketch?
Yes. Projects come to me at any stage:

From an Idea: You bring a sketch, reference photo, or rough concept, and I develop the 3D geometry and physical material strategy.

From a Design: You bring an existing 3D file or CAD drawing. I analyze geometric constraints, resolve loads and connection details, and generate shop-drawings while preserving your exact visual intent.
How large and heavy can your builds be?
Scale is dictated by transport limitations and routes, site foundations, and crane access, not structural complexity. I have planned, detailed, and built installations reaching 12 meters in height and exceeding 30 tonnes in weight—including the wireframe human sculpture at the Weizmann Institute’s Clore Garden of Science, fabricated from over 1,500 5-axis laser-cut steel pipes.
What materials and fabrication technologies do you work with?

Digital & Parametric: Rhinoceros 3D, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, and algorithmic drafting environments.

Industrial Production: 5-axis CNC laser pipe cutting, multi-axis tube bending, certified welding, and custom assembly jigs.

Materials: Steel, timber, concrete, glass, composites, textiles, bamboo and mixed-material systems, depending on the geometry, structural requirements and fabrication process.
Do you design and build permanent museum exhibits and science-center pavilions?
Yes. Museum and institutional installations are a central part of my portfolio. Landmark projects include the permanent 1:1 exhibit replica of the International Space Station (ISS) Cupola observation module and the Journey into Space exhibition at MadaTech (Israel’s National Museum of Science, Technology and Space in Haifa). I design and engineer these spaces to withstand heavy public use, comply with institutional safety standards, and meet strict opening deadlines.
Can you build walk-in, climbable, interactive installations?
Yes. I specialize in physical structures built to be touched, climbed, entered, and inhabited rather than observed from behind a rope. Human contact points, climbing rungs, dynamic loads, and visitor safety considerations are designed directly into the structural geometry from the very first line.
Do you provide technical documentation for permits?
I develop the structural planning, connection logic, DFM optimization, and fabrication documentation needed to make non-standard structures physically viable. When municipal permits or signed calculations are legally required, I coordinate directly with licensed structural engineers and safety inspectors. I deliver clean calculation models and joint data so engineers can audit and certify the structure without compromising the design.
Do you execute projects outside of Israel?
Yes. I deliver international work via containers ready for overseas shipping, turnkey on-site assembly, or full fabrication documentation paired with remote/on-site supervision (such as private structural installations delivered in Mykonos, Greece).
